Diet/Lifestyle
In our high stress lives of eating on the run and not having the time or energy to prepare fresh meals, diet can be a really challenging daily issue. In our culture we tend to use stimulants like caffeine to push through our energy lows and then resort to depressants such as alcohol or sleeping aids to wind down in the evenings. When we add the fact that there isn’t much left at the end of the day to work in an exercise routine it isn’t too difficult to recognize the fundamental seeds of imbalance. In the end, something’s got to give and we end up fatigued and dehydrated, with insomnia and lowered immunities. This state leaves us vulnerable to seasonal allergies and viruses. This compromised immunity also makes it more difficult to recover from run of the mill health problems.
Often times we may be contributing to our health problems unknowingly by the way we live or the foods we consume. Chinese medicine pays close attention to the energetic and temperature qualities of foods in reference to how they may help or hinder our individual constitution. Be ready to share information about your lifestyle habits and eating schedules and preferences because a relevant culprit to the problem could be right under your nose!
